News Release, Kansas Geological Survey, July 18, 1995
The map shows elevations and contours of the land surface in Ness County, along with a variety of natural and man-made features such as roads, power lines, towns and air fields.
The Ness County map shows drainage patterns along Walnut Creek and the Pawnee River, Goodman State Fishing Lake, Goose Lake, and other features.
The map is drawn at a scale of 1:100,000 so that one inch on the map equals about 1.6 miles of actual distance. Elevations on the map are shown in metric units.
Individual copies of the map are available for $4, plus $2 per order for shipping and handling, from the Kansas Geological Survey, West Campus, University of Kansas, Lawrence, KS 66047. Kansas residents should add 6.9 percent sales tax to their total order--maps plus shipping and handling.
The Survey also carries other, more detailed topographic maps of the state. A map index is available upon request.
