Sheridan 6 (SD-6) LEMA
In late 2012, the Kansas Department of Agriculture (KDA) Division of Water Resources (DWR) approved the first Local Enhanced Management Area (LEMA) for an area in western Sheridan County and eastern Thomas County. The area referred to as Sheridan County 6 (SD-6) is now under a producer led five year water use restriction in order to extend the life the the High Plains Aquifer.
