Coalbed Methane Workshop Set for August 7
The North Midcontinent Resource Center of the Petroleum Technology
Transfer Council will conduct a workshop titled "Coalbed
Methane Production in the Midcontinent - A New Frontier",
August 7, 2002 at the Airport Hilton Hotel in Wichita, Kansas.
Registration will begin at 8:00 AM. The purpose of the workshop
will be to provide attendees with geological, engineering, operational
and regulatory issues related to coalbed methane production in
the midcontinent. Service company exhibitors will have booths
to demonstrate technologies pertaining to CBM production.
Speakers from Ticora Geosciences, Hampton-Waechter & Associates,
Williams Gas Pipeline, Computer Modeling Group, Kudu Industries,
Kansas Corporation Commission, Tertiary Oil Recovery Project
and the Kansas Geological Survey will present topics on coal
geology in Kansas, regulations pertaining to CBM, testing procedures,
completion considerations, artificial lift alternatives, marketing,
computer modeling CBM production and managing CBM production
from drilling the prospect to selling the gas including reserve
analysis.
A workshop fee of $50 will be charged which includes refreshments,
lunch and a course manual. A registration form is included in
this newsletter. Pre-registration is encouraged.
